George - 2009-05-15 21:21:56 - Men's Health

And do they keep you awake while they do it? What would exactly happen if I got an erection?

I had it done as a baby. I couldn't walk for a year.

you'll get local anesthetic make sure you don't get erections, have sex or masturbate for at least 4 weeks or the stitches will rip : ) have fun with that...jk sucks for you

I'm sure they will put you to sleep. If you get an erection they will hit it with a cold spoon. No joke it makes your "boner" go bye bye. Don't worry about it.

it going to hurt for a while when you get an erection it will stretch the scare where they cut you

Yes they keep you awake. Because it's a quick procedure. However you will be numbed obviously so you won't feel a thing. You won't get an erection. You can't get an erection when you are numb. Unless you have a fetish for needles going into your penis and people cutting your penis you won't be getting hard. Believe me. Plus you can' tget hard when numb. Also if you are getting circumcised make sure that you tell the doctor what TYPE of circumcision you want. Don't just let him chose the type for you. I reccomend high and loose or high and tight. I don't reccomend any low circumcisions because they just take away even more sensitivity than regular circumcisions. I'm sorry you got to get circumcised. Or if you chose it then I'm not sorry and good luck with it =] -Connor

They use local anesthetic George but the pain comes after, and the sensitive head touching everything won't be fun for a long time. Why don't you keep that amazing sensitivity of your knob and use it as slippery sliding pleasure which is the most pleasurable sensation in sex. As your glans becomes dry regular skin, the feeling receptors get buried under the surface and you loose too much of that one of a kind special sensation that goes right to your brains sex processing center. If your getting circumcised as a choice, give a bit more thought. I don't know your reason, but if your doing it for looking a certain way like a helmet or mushroom head, the loss of the feeling that I described is too big of a price to pay. Your sex pleasure is what penis is all about. Besides, no one is going to spend much time admiring the image of your penis and after locker rooms, your left with the rest for a lifetime. Addition...those needles for local anesthetic aren't going to be a treat! Wanting the best only for you Man Me! :- )

why?

K P - 2009-05-15 22:01:34
thats why you get that done when you're young, so you dont get any erection. but i guess your doctor's gonna give you some pills so you wont get erection, and also I never get erection when i'm sick or in any pain.

It won't hurt. It will be uncomfortable for a while. They will give you moist dressings for your willy, as unwanted erections will break the scab. The moist dressing will minimise scabbing. You will be uncomfortable for about a week, and then things will settle down, after a month or so, everything will be OK. It will put the brakes on your sex life, (including polishing the trophy) for about 6 weeks. I was done at 19 and have absolutely NO regrets. Good luck.

They might use local anaesthetic. If they don't, it will KILL (not saying it's fatal). As for the erection part, I don't know.

look 1st they will give you an anesthetic and put you off to sleep. Then they will take a meal or a plastic object. If they take the metal object, they will pull out your foreskin. It won't hurt as you will be asleep. Then if they take the plastic one then they will fix it to your penis for a week. The foreskin will slowly come out . The wound heals after 3-4 weeks. But I suggest you not to be circumcised.

George, I'm sure that at your age (since you are old enough to ask this question) that the doctors will do what ever it takes to minimize the pain you may experience. You may have a local anesthesia or they may want to give you a general anesthesia so that you don't move while being circumcised. Yes, you will have some pain after the procedure (especially if you have an erection), but I'm sure you'll be able to deal with it. The doctor will explain it all to you. Don't worry...you are doing the right thing.

The procedure will be numbed, except for the needle. Afterwards will be uncomfortable and no sex for two months. Adult males lose 15 square inches (40 square centimetres) of skin in circumcision, over half the skin of your penis. You lose the gliding action as it slides on itself during masturbation and sex. You will suffer bruising, perhaps some bleeding, and the swelling from the disruption to the lymph system goes on for up to six months. Removing the foreskin turns the surface of the glans from an inner mucosal membrane to outside skin. Newly circumcised adults usually go through some weeks of intense discomfort as the glans is constantly exposed to rubbing on clothing, until it develops a thicker keratin layer and becomes less sensitive. You must abstain from ALL sexual activity for an average of six weeks. Some men like the final result but others complain of loss of sensation and miss being able to slide their foreskin over the glans. Circumcised guys often have little or no movable skin left and are forced to masturbate using lube or rubbing dry, without the loose skin. There is no going back if you don’t like the result. A recent study has shown real differences in fine touch sensitivity between circumcised and intact penises and that the most sensitive parts of the intact penis are those that would be removed by circumcision. The claimed benefits of circumcision are a beat up (based on flawed studies) and don't really exist but medical authorities have worked out that the overall complication rate is higher than all the benefits claimed by the pro-cutting advocates. One by one the claims are disproved but the pro-cutting zealots come up with more and keep quoting the old ones despite the evidence against them. For example you have more chance of dying from a circumcision or losing your penis from wound infection than from penile cancer. The rate of penile cancer is higher in the largely-circumcised USA than in European countries where less than 1% of the male population is circumcised. Plus circumcised men have been found to have penile cancer, mostly on the scar. (Remember this is a very rare disease in intact or circumcised men). A very recent study in New Zealand followed a cohort of boys through life from birth to age 32. About 40% were circumcised. The intact males had a slightly lower rate of sexually transmitted infections than the circumcised but there was no significant difference. Using surgery to mutilate the genitals instead of washing in a modern western society makes no sense. Normal intact male genitals are, if anything, easier to wash than female ones and the same substance, smegma collects in the genital folds of both sexes. A few intact males have problems with tight foreskin but this is only a tiny proportion of intact males. The condition can now be almost always treated with simple stretching exercises, sometimes in combination with a steroid cream that speeds up the process. Many women who get to interact sexually with an intact penis prefer the natural state. Don’t do this to yourself just to fit in. Be proud of your whole and natural body. Geoff

I'd recommend against it. If you have a tight foreskin, then it may be down to your masturbation technique. If so, it can be cured without surgery. read on. The average age for the foreskin to retract is 10 years of age. For some boys though it doesn't become retractable until the teenage years. This is normal. See here for what normal retraction looks like: http://geocities.com/painfulquestioning/naturalresources Your masturbation habits may have been the cause of phimosis. Certain masturbation techniques that differ from the normal up and down motion mimicking sex can damage both the foreskin and the 3 delicate spongy arteries of the penis. Examples of damaging masturbation habits include: rubbing the penis head through clothes. and thrusting against the bed. This does 2 things. Firstly rubbing the top of the foreskin and manipulating it in an unnatural manner creates scar tissue. This scar tissue is inelastic. Secondly, the large pressure applied to the penis means that the spongy arteries that make up the penis may be damaged. Consequently, the penis doesn't fill up with blood properly and doesn't stretch the skin from the inside-out in the normal manner. Check for signs of damage: the glans (the head underneath) can be sensitive and each side of the pee-slit is red. So, a few things you need to do to cure this. Initially , give your penis time to repair the spongy arteries that may have been damaged. Do this by masturbating as little as possible initially. then you can start doing it again - but don't do it too frequently. Then, change to the masturbation tecnique where you just move the foreskin up and down applying as little pressure as possible. Stop any 'rubbing' masturbation techniques. I'm pretty sure if you stick with this advice - it will retract in no time. The reason you should not opt for circumcision is this. The foreskin contains many specialized nerves on it's underside. When the foreskin is moved up and down it is very pleasurable. Circumcised men have lost this ability to masturbate easily as there is no gliding effect. Circumcised men often have to resort to artificial lubrication in masturbation and sex. See here for the function of the foreskin: http://geocities.com/painfulquestioning/naturalresources Without the foreskin protecting the glans, circumcised men lose further sensitivity. The glans (head of the penis) dries out. It also brushes on underwear causing the skin to toughen.
